Catching Up

Goly gee, life has been busy. We have had a typical fun filled summer so far, staying up late, packing our schedule full of adventures and being sunburned and exhausted!!

I want to share some highlights from the past couple of weeks!!

We went to eat for Daddy's birthday and took some funny Mommy-buggie selfies!

We cheered on team USA with sweet friends!

We all got haircuts!! (After Bubba's but clearly before Mallory's!)

We made a special trip up north for some playtime and a birthday! (At the mall playing.)

The girls had a nice chat in the car.

We had dinner at Rosas.

We, of course, made a Target run with all the sweet kids!

We had to dress the girls alike for Harper girls big flamingo party day!

Then we went for open play at Jump n Jungle! So much fun!

Party time! Harpers Mommy did such a great job on the party and all the kids looked great in their flamingo suits!!

We celebrated my dear friend Toya's daughter McKinley turning 4!!

And that night we celebrated Toya turning 30 with a surprise dinner her husband pulled off. She had no idea and loved seeing everyone!! (I forgot to take pics.)

The next day we swam at H&Ps most of the day. Then we were invited to one of D's coworkers homes for dinner. They have four seriously precious and sweet kids and they all had a blast!!

Adorable little Brookie and Mallory. Safety first!!

All the boys are older than Mason but he loved being rough and running around with them. And playing with their awesome toys too, of course!!

On a side note, I'm happy to announce after 4 weeks, we finally have a working a air conditioner. I can't even begin to tell you the nightmare this all turned out to be. My pinky broke out in stress induced exema if that tells you how bad, all consuming, and just downright frustrating this has been for me. I am currently laying in bed writing this in a nice cool house and am thankful. And also looking forward to returning to normal life again. Let me just say this, if you sell or buy do NOT get a home warranty through First American. They. Are. A. Joke.

This is a super exciting week for our family and I look forward to sharing more about that with you in a post tomorrow!!

I'm Just Sayin...

The little hoarder of multiples is at it again. Yes, those are tampons she found in my suitcase upon arriving home. She "collected" them and carried them around in this shape sorter toy.

Is it bad that I am already ready for fall. I'm sitting her browsing birthday party themes, Christmas card outfit ideas and Halloween costumes. I enjoy swimming and the sun, but I can't wait for September.

Our air conditioner on the bedroom side of the house has been broken for over 2 weeks now. Let me just say this, doing anything through a home warranty company is a joke. Somebody better get their crap together or I am going to lose my mind. Not to mention the projected $600 electricity bill coming to me at the end of the month. Sigh. Anybody know a good attorney?

We got one hell of a thunderstorm and downpour tonight! Yay!

Eeeeek! Bless your heart baby girl! Those twin newborn days are rough! ;)

Laundry day is so boring Mom!

Wins favorite picture of the month award. It was short lived joy but it sure puts a smile on my face!!

And because you need a laugh, the following is a text I sent to my husband at about 1 pm this afternoon. Keepin it real folks...

"Love you! Had to go to bathroom but while I was in there it got really quiet. I hurried and went in to find both of your kids in the hall bathroom, the floor covered in water. The toilet bowl had the cardboard roll from the toilet paper half flushed and stuck. Mallory had pooped, but not real sure where that went. These kids are trying to kill me. Or make me insane. Not sure yet."

Thirty Years: Vegas Style

My husband surprised me before my birthday last month with plans for a trip to Vegas to celebrate me turning thirty! A few things about this were so special. First, it was amazing having him, in all the craziness of his work right now, stop and make plans to make me feel so loved and special for my big birthday this year. Second, we haven't had a trip alone since our New York trip on New Years in 2011! Third, my mommy self was on auto pilot and definitely needed a huge refresher! Needless to say, it was exactly what we both desperately needed!

Now for some pics of the fun...

My boyfriend and I up bright and early for our 7 am flight! Bye bye reality! ;)

We got checked in to our gorgeous suite at the Palazzo at 8 am! Our view...

I didn't get pictures because they don't allow phones back in the spa. But you better believe my husband took us straight to the spa and scheduled a 10 am couples massage. The most glorious 50 minutes of the trip! It's ok. Be jealous, haha!

Then, the most amazing sushi for lunch!

Some sunbathing and swimming.

That evening we had tickets to the cirque du soliel show "O" at The Bellagio. We headed over early to see the beautiful gardens at the hotel and eat at the buffet.

I LOVED the show. I highly, highly recommend "O". I have only seen a couple of shows, but this one is totally worth every penny!

My Friday started off amazing. This is the Fashion Show Mall, right across from our hotel. I spent a couple hours there while D stayed back and watched some soccer. I was completely in my element doing what I do best, spending my hubby's money. Ha! Then we had delicious food at an amazing burger joint in our hotel.

Next up, the Cake Boss!

Amazing!

We went back to relax and play some slots, then enjoyed a nice Mexican dinner on the canal.

Saturday we were headed to find lunch after sleeping late and realized that Joe Montana was going to be signing at a memorabilia shop. We got there at the perfect time, got our football, and were about 10th in line for the appearance! It was so neat and Dusty was so stinking happy!

Then I made his day better by picking a mega sports bar called Lagasse's Stadium to eat lunch. It was a mans palace. TVs, amazing food and beer. I'm not gonna lie. I loved it. I had fried chicken with jalapeños and mashed potatos and a beer. Just my style.

A trip down to M&M World to get a little something for our M&M loving Mason and Mallory. :)

More pool time for Mommy while D rested and watched more soccer. Then I came back to indulge in a bath, some crime drama on my bathroom TV, and an ice cold dr pepper. Yes, I took a picture. Hoping that just looking at it will make me feel as relaxed and stress free as I did in that moment!

My last date with my guy at Buddy V's Ristorante! (The cake boss' Italian restaurant at the hotel. Delish!)

We ended the night at the slot machines and I got a nice little bonus on a game that my Mom liked on their last trip. Thanks Mom for the suggestion! I put in my pocket and we ended on a good note! ;)

Bye bye Las Vegas. Until next time!!

It was really an amazing trip. Lots of sleep, relaxing, good food and time reconnecting with my love. We missed our kiddos like crazy but they had a great time back at home with D's family. I think they were just as happy to have a break from me! Thanks to our family who helped with the kids and to my Dad for sharing flight points for us for the trip! I would be totally good if this was an annual tradition! ;)

Weekend Wrap Up

It was an awesome weekend here in our world! Friday morning we kicked off the fun with a swimming date with my sweet friend Brandi and her precious girls. Back when we were in college I remember Brandi building a Sims city where all of our group of friends got married to our men, built houses on the same street and had lots of babies. Now it's real life! And although we don't live on the same street, it's still super cool being in the same town and just a few minutes from eachother so that we can enjoy play dates, cookouts, and share in these amazing moments growing our families and raising our kiddos!

The twins loved having a friend to swim with and Charley girl had a smile on her face the entire time she was there. That girl is just full of joy. As is her cutie baby sister. They get it from their Mama! Aunt Mami came over to watch all the fun too! (We are on the less than a month countdown to Baby Hudson! I can't wait!)

I am obsessed with this precious picture! Love these kids so very much!!

Friday night we just had a quiet night in playing around the house. It was nice just to have some family time.

Saturday morning we got up and went back to H&Ps for a day of swimming. Literally, a fulllllll day. We got in the pool at 11:30 am and finished our night swimming at 9:30 that night! Of course we took food breaks, sunscreen breaks, and a nap break in all that time. But it was so much fun! There will be many more of these days in store for our summer!!

Today this Mommy got to sleep in while Daddy took the monkeys to a new park to play. Y'all, let me just stop to brag a minute here. I LOVE to sleep in. I can usually sleep until 10 or 11 if I'm left alone. I have never felt like its a waste of my day and actually find it quite refreshing. Well my husband is an early riser. I can count on one hand the number of times he has slept late like I can. If he is home and not busy on the weekends, I can always count on him to get up with the kids and let me sleep in. I cherish this. It may seem insignificant but this morning he dressed everyone, fed everyone, packed a bag of extra undies and snacks for the park and got out of the house so that I could sleep. For me, that's a huge deal and I appreciate it more than he will ever know!

Then we spent the rest of the day hanging out, playing, resting, and cleaning up outside. The kids cozy coupes were dirty so I decided to put them to work. They loved it! Next time I need to get them out working on our vehicles!

Hope your weekend was fun and full as well!!
