D has been working like crazy since the beginning of the year and things have been so busy for the kids and me that we decided a few weeks ago that we just needed to get AWAY from it all! Slow down and enjoy some time with our sweet babies.
And boy did we. There literally was not enough time in this weekend! But we packed it full of fun and memories and the kids cried when we had to leave. We all could have stayed forever!
We left Friday morning and headed to Great Wolf Lodge!
Picture with the wolf upon arriving!
We settled into our room and went straight to the waterpark for some fun. They have slides, water guns, and tons of equipment to play on. They also have a lazy river with tubes and a wave pool!
After a couple hours of water fun we were ready for dinner and headed to the grill for some food.
Mason was eating some celery and bit the crud out of his finger so he sat with me for dinner. Poor guy. At least we still got some smiles out of him.
As we were leaving dinner they were starting story time in the lobby. Mason was obsessed with this mechanical character show! All weekend he would say I want to go to the clock show Mom!
After story time we headed down to the arcade to play some games and get some dessert to take to our room.
The next morning we woke up to two happy and excited kiddos!
We enjoyed a yummy buffet breakfast and then headed to the waterpark for more fun!
(Flat booty problems! Hehe!)
The kids also enjoyed riding the big slides. I didn't get any pics on my phone camera because it's near impossible to walk around with a phone and not get it wet! But D got some video on his go pro. The slides were pretty fast but they both loved them. They also enjoyed jumping over the waves at the wave pool.
At lunch we grabbed a pizza and went up to our room to eat and watch a little TV. Then we decided we better attempt naps of we had any chance of making it through the whole baseball game for fireworks that night. Luckily, we were all worn out and everyone took a 2 hour nap! We got up, got ready and headed out to the Rangers game!
The game was great and we liked the all you can eat seats. Mason really enjoyed the hot dogs and nachos. Mallory loved the nachos and really loved that Mommy shared her dr pepper! But, the kids favorite part was definitely the fireworks show. Mallory kept saying "oh wow" and "this is so fun"! As we left Mason said, "Mason loved those fireworks!"
We got back to our room and settled in bed just after midnight. The next morning we slept late, woke up and packed up, and went downstairs to finish winning more tickets and picking out prizes at the arcade. Mallory got a unicorn stuffed animal and a bouncy ball. Mason got a big pack of cars and motorcycles and a glow mini soccer ball. They were excited about their winnings!
We definitely could have used another trip to the waterpark, some time in the outside pools, a visit to the little girls spa, a trip to the souvenir shop, and another clock show, but time FLEW by and we had to head back home! I've already decided that we WILL be going back this fall. It was just too much fun.
This adorable picture was snapped right before the kids realized we were leaving and got so upset. Broke my heart.
But, I am so thankful that we have the opportunity to do these things with the kids. I love watching them experience magic and excitement and just enjoy being kids! I will not ever take this part of parenting for granted.
Until next time Great Wolf Lodge!
