First Mommy Daughter Trip

My sweet friend Sara moved to Houston over a year ago and we finally had a chance to go see her, her beautiful daughter, and her lovely new home! We decided to make it a girls weekend so Mason stayed back with Dad for some much needed father-son time. Mallory was very excited to ride on an airplane with "just the girls". :)

She found Destiny at the airport and it was so cute, I just couldn't resist getting it for her. (She loves her stuffed animals and plays with them all the time!)

Her first time riding at night! She thought it was so neat!

Mal and Coco all ready for a fun day at the zoo!

We were being silly!

Poor thing wanted to see the "baby elephants" so she could cuddle them. Little did she know baby elephants are actually huge and they don't exactly let you cuddle things at the zoo. Haha. So we cuddled this statue instead.

That evening we picked up a delicious dinner, ate at home and got the girls a bath and enjoyed some playtime before getting them in bed.

Nothing better than cute, clean, Jammie babies!

Ready for Day 2!

They were so sweet, giggling and trying to make each other laugh.

That day we went to a super awesome trampoline park. It was a little crowded so I didn't get any great pictures. But, I did get this one of Mal inside the big children's play area. She loved this so much.

And after all that activity, we worked up an appetite. Spaghetti for lunch at Carrabas for this girl! This was her favorite meal while we were there of course. (Well, that and the chocolate cake we had there for dessert!)

That evening we took the girls to the park in Sara's neighborhood to play and then we took them to watch Sing at the movie theater.

It was a quick, but wonderful weekend with our sweet girlfriends. I loved getting to catch up with Sara and we enjoyed getting to love on each other's girls.

Riding home in style. Watching her favorite, Beauty and the Beast, with Moms Bose headphones. Haha.

Sara, thanks again for your hospitality and entertaining us for a weekend. We can't wait to see you guys again!

Welcome 2017

Alright, now that I've got all caught up 2016's adventures, let's say hello to the new year! We've already had some exciting times and not so exciting times in the first month of the year.

The highlight of January was our first sleepover with our sweet Hudson!

It went really well for Hud's first night away from his Mom and Dad. He started to get sad but I let Mal sleep with the boys too, and then he was all better. He sure loves M&M and they sure love him! We can't wait to do it again!

Since I like to keep things real on my blog, this year has also had its downs already. The kids had a pretty hard time getting adjusted back to school after winter break and were misbehaving and getting themselves in a lot of trouble at school and at home. One Friday, after a horrible day for both at school, we had had enough. We grounded them from a friends birthday party and made them stay home to scoop puppy poop and clean the backyard. It was one of the harder decisions we have had to make as parents, but it was a strong statement made to our little ones that we will not let them act like disobedient brats ever, but especially at school. I am happy to report that the lesson sunk in pretty well and we've seen some progress made with their self control and obedience skills. We also started a sticker chart at home which has helped to encourage some postive behavior.

Parenting. It's definitely not for the faint of heart!

Up next, Mommy and Mallory's first out of town trip together and a fun weekend at the hunting lease!
