Weekend Wrap Up

Hello strangers! We had a fun and busy weekend. Friday night we had our friends and my sister and brother in law over for fajitas and fun. Saturday we went to the St. Ann's Fair. A local catholic church puts on a fair to raise funds for the school. My uncle and aunt used to run the stuffed animal booth in the fun fair carnival so we went and helped every year when I was a kid. I loved the fair back then so I was excited to take the twins for their first carnival experience.

Sister holding her fun fair tickets.

Bubba ready for the games!

The fish pond.

Waiting to catch some goodies!

The cake walk!

Stuffed animal booth.

Maser won a cool snake!

Ride time, which clearly did not go well. I thought for sure my little daredevil girl would love the kiddie rides. Maybe next year...

Ferris wheel with Mommy and Daddy!

Duck diving!

And the buggies favorite part, the big slides that Gamaw and Mommy took them on over and over! It was a blast, the weather was awesome, and I hope that this will become an annual Burger tradition!

Saturday night my husband and I drove out of town for a wedding and then drove the 2 hours back home right afterwards. Sunday was spent catching up on dishes, laundry, bills and house duties. I also managed to sneak away for a bit to attend a friends 31 party.

Whew, it was a fun weekend but I could sure use a day where I just don't even have to get out of bed! Ha, maybe someday. :)

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!

Home Tour

I am finally feeling like we are settled into the new house and took a few pictures to share! We still have some decorating to do and a couple pieces of furniture to purchase but all in all I feel like I can finally just enjoy our new place.

The living room from the front door.
(Grey's Anatomy reruns on TV during nap while I sort through the kids clothes hiding all over the couch, haha.)

The kitchen! One of my favorite parts of the house!
(Standing in the breakfast nook that is empty at the moment. Will be getting a small breakfast table sometime in the near future.)

Formal dining room

The den, aka the man cave. Needs some pillows and wall decor but, big screen, bose speakers, comfy couch, what more can I say...

The view out to the patio from the den.

The wet bar that has doors opening to the living room.

Guest bathroom

Mallory Grace's room... can't wait to get started painting and designing their new big kid rooms!

Maser man's room, just up from a nap! :)

The "mason and mallory" bath. Get it? Jack and Jill bath. Ha!
I'm slightly delirious from lack of sleep. :)

I changed the vanity to a changing/hamper station and am loving it for after bathtime!

Playroom!

Still need to hang my playroom pics but I love this room! And it stays a complete disaster!

My oasis! Will eventually get new bedding because I love the gray walls but this doesn't quite go. Little changes over time!

My bath! My husband and I have our own bathrooms in the master. The shower is in his bathroom and this beautiful tub is in mine. Can't wait to try it out with a glass of wine! ;)

My favorite place, the back patio! We will also one day be adding a sectional out here but we sure are enjoying some cool evenings and football on our new patio.

The kiddos favorite place!

That's the tour! Hope you like it. We are sure loving all the space and the new adventures in our home. Thanks to all of you who checked in and encouraged us through the process. All in all, it went smoothly and we are convinced it was well worth it! We are blessed!

Home Sweet Home

I don't have any time or energy but thought I would do a quick update. We are officially moved in to our new home and loving it! We have been here a week now and I have unpacked everything for the inside of the house. The garage and attic stuff is still piled in the garage but it will take a while to sort through all that mess. I am excited to have reached the decorating phase of moving in and hopefully past the staying up until 3 am every night unpacking while the kids sleep phase! Since the walls and built ins are so bare at the moment I will wait to do a photo tour in a later post.

The buggies are loving the new place, especially the backyard. We have been teaching them all the new boundaries in the new house which has been a challenge in itself! But, they love running around and they now both say "outside" really clearly! :)

Just a few memories from the last week...

More updates soon!

Five on Friday

This weeks five on Friday is all about what's on my mind...

Worry.
This little guy has Mommy's worry meter going into the red. He had a rough time at PDO drop off yesterday and was fussy there most of the day. Then lost it when I came to pick him up. I have never seen him clinch his legs and arms so tight around me. Heartbreaking. I'm hoping he gets adjusted quickly.

Joy.
My little princess is doing wonderful at PDO. Apparently she is everyone's friend and a gentle spirit at school. That makes my heart happy. And she's also been making me laugh a lot lately. She has recently started fake sneezing but she thinks you are supposed to say "bless you" AS you sneeze. It's the funniest thing ever! You know, once you wipe all her spit off you. Ha!

Encouragement.
My spirit has been heavily convicted lately in regards to my attitude and snap judgements. I so desire to be an encouragement to others, especially other Moms. Only other Moms know the challenges we face raising our littles and I think it's crucial that we can rely on each others encouragement to survive this journey. I also desire to be more encouraging to my kids and husband. Everyday my patience gets tested and I lose my focus for my family. Mission Encourage... challenge accepted!

THE Denver Broncos.
I have pledged my fan allegiance to the Broncos this year. I have always enjoyed watching them play. Never was a Cowboys fan but being raised in Texas it's almost as if your obligated to cheer on Dallas. No more. I get so turned off by the drama and controversy surrounding that team that I have decided, officially, that the Broncos are my team. And I will be cheering Peyton Manning and team all the way to Super Bowl XLVIII.

Home Sweet Home.
I am dreaming day and night about this place. We officially move in this Wedensday and I am so ready. And I am ready to be done with this whole move process and just enjoy our new home with my family. Patience, that is something else I should probably work on. ;)

First Day

Today was the first day of PDO for the buggies and I am happy to report all went as good as I hoped! There were no meltdowns when I left and they were happy kiddos most of the day. Mason lost it when he saw me walk in to pick them up. He jumped in my arms and leaned towards the door. I think he kind of missed me. Mallory also clung to my leg but apparently didn't shed a tear all day. Their teacher said they were "awesome and they had no issues". She did report that neither of them napped. :( (Kinda figured that would be the case.) She also told me that mason is the class musician dancing and "snapping" all day.

I am already praying about Thursday because they are fully aware of the entire school concept now and I am a little concerned Mason is not going to take drop off so well.

Everyone asked how I did so I'll share honestly. Driving away from the church the leaving-my-babies-with-strangers-for-the-first-time worry set in BUT I didn't cry at all! I kept myself super busy between the gym, lunch with my hubby and errands that the time fleeeeeew by. So it went smoother than I thought! ;)

My how I have missed some alone time on the treadmill! Plan to spend lots of PDO days here! Ha! :)

So now we will be getting a new routine figured out because this no nap thing ain't gonna work. They were miserable this evening and in bed by 7:15 but have been restless all night. As I said before, lots of adjusting but we will get it all figured out over the next couple weeks! Thanks for all the encouragement from my friends over the last few days. Turns out, we really are all going to be ok!

Weekend Wrap Up

First we started with Texas Tech Football with friends...

Happy we won!

And just because it's funny, we also took a "bummer, we lost! picture" just in case...

Saturday we left for a mini Labor Day weekend vacation in a small town about a couple of hours from here where my husband was invited to go dove hunting. Seeing as how I love hotels, the babes and I had to go too! It was a fun and relaxing weekend swimming, watching movies, shopping and of course some good food!

Mad because she wanted to get down but I just wanted her picture, ha!

Exploring the hotel room!

Yummy Mexican food! The kids ate everything!

Stylin and full after dinner!

Big swimmers!

We need more weekend getaways! :)

Happy Labor Day!
