Five on Friday

I decided to join in on a fun blog series I found through a couple of other sweet bloggers who have stopped by. Sometimes I have a hard time finding stuff to blog about. Mallory ate green beans. Mason asked for milk. We ran to the bank. I drank a dr pepper or 5 today. Yeah, really exciting stuff that I am sure you all are on pins and needles waiting to read about. Heh.

Five on Friday

It's just a fun way to share things you are loving, things on your mind, or just things you want to chat about.
I chose to focus my first post on things I am super excited about this week!

Texas Tech Football
We are HUGE college football fans. My hubby graduated from Texas Tech and although I graduated from a smaller university, I still claim Tech as my alma mater. After our wedding we lived in Lubbock for 3 years while D was in school and there is nothing better than Red Raider football. We are so excited for our new season with our new (not too hard on the eyes) coach! :) WRECK 'EM!!

Organizing
I am obsessed with my new planner. I found it a few weeks back at Target and I love it! It is small-ish and fits great in the mommy pocket of my diaper bag. And I even printed a little photo collage of my monkeys to personalize it.

Fall
My number one favorite time of the year. Cooler weather, pumpkin spice lattes, lots of snuggles, soft sweaters, cute boots... oh yeah, I'm so over you summer. Oh, and did I mention football?

House Decorating
I have been browsing for ideas for the new house and can't wait to actually get in and start implementing. I am a visual person. I need to be in the space to plan it out. But I have found lots of stuff online - decor, furniture, toddler room ideas. I can't wait. And yes, that is a closer sneak peek of our patio at the new house. Can. Not. Wait.

Buggies Birthday Planning
I have their whole 2nd birthday planned out from invitation wording, to decorations and food. For their 1st birthday I went with a neon chevron theme and it turned out super cute and was so fun to put together. (top) The theme this year is going to be so fun! A couple of hints as to what it will be!

Meet The Teacher

Tonight, I am a tad emotional. Tonight, we had meet the teacher at the buggies new Parent's Day Out program. I seriously can't believe my once tiny babies are now starting "school".

I know this is a small portion of what all you ladies who have new kindergartners are feeling this week, but my word. I am having a hard time letting go...

However, the kids were awwwwwesome. They went right in and started playing with toys and talking to everyone. So many of the kids in their class were so upset. My two never looked back. That makes me happy. I know next week may be different now that they know a little more and that I will not stay, but I was glad that they just jumped right in on all the fun. That's a good sign.

I really like the head teacher of their class. She was very sweet and bragged on Mason for making most of his animal sounds while we were gone at the parent meeting. Mason's obsessed with cows at the moment and apparently showed off his mooing skills. I'm proud, ha!

It will be a little of an adjustment for me and for the babies but I think it will be a great experience for them and a nice change of pace for me, especially once we are in the new house and I will have so much to do.

OYW

I had planned on doing these One Year Wednesday posts through the buggies 2nd birthday but life has gotten a little crazy and I keep forgetting. Honestly, the closer it gets to them turning two, the harder it is for me to look back at these pictures of my little infants who are now walking, talking, fit throwing toddlers. But they are sweet memories and besides, I have to finish what I start. Don't you know that about me yet?!

So catching up, again!

Bump InThe Road

My week began with the appraisal on our current house then heavy force packing since we were aiming to be completely moved out of the house this weekend, as we were scheduled to close next Thursday. Then I received a call Thursday morning (after staying up until 2 am packing for the third night in a row and buying more boxes) from my dear husband. "Where are you?" I just bought boxes and we are headed to get breakfast then home to pack some more. "Are you stopped" That doesn't sound good, no I am not. "Well pull over." Babe, you're scaring me what's wrong. Ok, I'm stopped. "Ok, it's just a bump in the road but, the people buying our house fell through." Silence.

A bump in the road. My heart sank down into my stomach and my fingers went numb. This was no bump in the road. It was the complete deal breaker that I always knew was a possibility but never really thought would happen.

"How soon can you get the house ready to show?" Panic, lots of words I shouldn't have said, tears, sobs, more panic and more silence.

I know it's just a house and I knew all would be fine but, I really had peace that this was all going to work out like it was supposed to and it was far from that.

Turns out it really was a bump in the road. I rushed home, moved boxes out, cleaned like a mad woman and had the house ready for a 3:15 showing that afternoon. A showing from which we received and signed an offer (higher than the last to boot) that evening. And these people don't have a house to sell. And the close date was set for just 4 days after our new house. And we found out the couple we are buying from are willing to push back closing to accommodate the new deal.

So now we get to stay in our home and move straight into our new home. Now that we have 3/4 of our house in storage and are living out of suitcases, but hey, the bright side is, looks like at this point everything may work out. At least that is what we are praying! So as stressed as I was Thursday things are back to normal around here. And the awesome thing is, we are all packed up so the work is done. Now we just play and wait! :)

Alive, I Think

We're still here, buried in seas of boxes, packing tape and bubble wrap. I wish I had the energy to write some clever blog post full of pictures and updates about life but...did I mention we are moving?  And the kids are not sleeping worth a darn. Don't get me wrong, still totally excited about moving but if this process were fun and not the least bit stressful we would all move at least once a year, right? I swore when we moved into this house I wasn't moving again for at least 10 years. That was 4 years ago...

In other news I had a freak out moment last week realizing the kids start Parents Day Out in exactly 3 weeks! We had backpacks and clothes but that was it. So I ordered nap mats, lunch boxes, pacis, and sippy cup bands. Now I feel a tad more prepared. But definitely not emotionally prepared yet. Have I mentioned this will be the first time they have been left with complete strangers? I am a control freak and I am already panicking a little. But watching them get so excited about their nap mats today helped me realize how much fun it will be for them.

And yes, my kids just live in T-shirts these days. I've accepted the fact that life will have no order for at least another month. So I am just letting things go.

And before I forget, Mallory Grace has recently picked up on a new phrase. "Bye, thank you, bye bye, thank you, welcome, bye, bye bye!"

Apparently she's preparing for her future days working aboard Southwest Airlines. Pretty sure she would make the cutest tiny flight attendant around! :)

Dream Come True

Wanna know what the buggies are so happy about?

We signed a contract on my dream house today! I am still in shock and obviously won't fully believe it until we close but I am just so thrilled.

The crazy part of all of this, the owners pulled this house off the market last week when their purchase fell through. We got the money stuff figured out and then that happened so I had mentally moved on. I stopped picturing my family in this beautiful home.

Then we got a call yesterday. If there is anything I've learned as an adult it is to trust in the Lords timing and be faithful for His plan to transpire. Because wow.

We went to see it again tonight and man, am I in love. I walk through realizing that it may not be anyone else's dream house. Heck, it is nothing like what I was looking for. It was built in the 80's, it's in a neighborhood I was not even considering, and it is not an open floor plan. And it's still everything I wanted and more. Seriously more.

It's been almost totally updated so feels new, is in a super nice established neighborhood with tree lined streets, has so much character and the best part... 3200 square feet.

S  P  A  C  E. So much space.

This is a huge blessing for our family and we are so excited. We are praying that the rest of this process goes smoothly, as the whole deal falls through if our house does not successfully close. Right now we have no reason to believe that we will not be completely closed here on the 29th of this month and moving into our new home on September 9th!

I do hope it all works out as planned though. I came across this house the same night that we accepted an offer on ours. It just felt so meant to be. And we are one step closer to making it that.

The pictures don't even do the house justice, and everyone who has been in it with us has stated that. But I will share my favorite place in the whole house. I'm a sucker for outdoor space. I think I might live out here...

Change is good. Embrace it...

Baby Look Alike

No house updates here. We have our storage unit and are busy packing up, waiting and praying for the right house, our house, to pop up! I'm anxious but trying to be patient!

In the mean time I thought we would have a little blog fun. I finally snapped a pic of one of Dusty's toddler pictures. For those of you wondering just where the babes got their looks, here ya go...

Daddy and Mal at 1.5 yrs.

Mommy and Mason at almost 2.

I think they both definitely have features from both of us, but Mallory sure has Daddy's blonde hair and big blue eyes. And Maser sure has my hair, eyes, and mouth!

Happy Monday y'all!

Life Goes On

Amidst all the preparing and decisions around selling our home, I am trying to make sure things are as normal as possible before uprooting the kids for a while, although I think they will handle it all just fine.

So, life goes on...

Play date with Charley girl!

It was hot so I put the sprinkler under the trampoline. Mason wasn't a fan of the loud sound it made but they all ended up having great fun!

Then we went to the children's museum with Mami, baby Caleb and his Mommy.

Dress up for my princess.

Maybe one of the most priceless pics I have ever taken! Caleb dressed up in his afro wig!

My silly boy.

Music sounds!

Dino dig!

Noise. And lots of it. Ha.

After chasing toddlers around a museum we decided a good lunch was in order. My handsome date.

Mami snuggling Mal Mal.

Spent some time at G&P's with the buggies cousins. Miss thing was in her playhouse alone giggling. That's what was making her laugh. She has a thing for glasses. :)

Cousin Cam and Maser man!

Some of our Fredericksburg family came in for a visit. Swimming with cousins Chelsea and Everett.

He ate tree bark with dirt on it and was quite proud of himself. Gah, I just don't know about him sometimes. ;)

Mommy bought MGB some pjs for her baby doll that matched hers. I am going to force her to be into baby dolls since that was my favorite as a kid. Haha.

Driving Miss Daisy

And on that note... I think even he's had enough!
