Two weeks ago the twins and I were invited to spend several days with our besties in Lubbock! Lacyes husband was going to be out of town for work and we had already planned to be there on the weekend for H's birthday, so we went early for a "staycation" so to speak!
We arrived on Wednesday and met at the mall for lunch and playtime!
We did some grocery shopping at Target to prepare for 5 days with 5 growing kids appetites and then went out for a quiet (haha, not) dinner at Chilis!

Thursday was our first full day of fun. We took the kids to Critterfest (or Critterfast as Mallory kept calling it) at the science spectrum!
We went for lunch at Orlandos and some quick shopping at a local craft mall. Then off to spend some time in our friends beautiful backyard and pool!
Friday we went to one of our favorite places to let the kids jump and bounce out some energy. Then we enjoyed lunch and more playtime at McDonalds and an afternoon of swimming.
Saturday was one of our favorite days. The twins had a rough afternoon on Friday because I had pushed them so hard without naps and it finally caught up. Luckily they were wiped and slept great at night! So Saturday we planned a low key activity and took the kids to see Inside Out. I was the only one in the bunch who had not seen it but everyone loved it so much that they were excited to see it again. And I thought it was a precious movie! Good for kids and adults! The movie turned out to be a nice restful and stress free activity. We went for snow cones afterwards and then had built up lots of energy for a perfect afternoon at the pool!

Sunday was Harper girls mermaid birthday party!

It was such a fun trip! One of my favorite parts was because we wore the kids out so well during the day, Lace and I had several hours each evening to catch up and relax. It was fun to watch girly movies, drink some Moscato and just talk uninterrupted! We also loved that this was one of the smoothest and easiest trips we've had together. We've hit that golden phase where all the kids play so well together, are old enough to do so much themselves and are on the same schedule. Clearly we've decided this should be an annual tradition!
Thanks again dear friends for letting us invade your home and world for five days of absolute fun together! Love the memories made and so looking forward to many more!
