Happy Easter 2016

We had a wonderful Easter weekend. On Thursday the kids had an Easter egg hunt at school.

Friday evening we hosted an egg coloring gathering at our house with our families!

Mami got these precious cookies for the kids to paint! They loved it!

I found these awesome whisks and it really helped contain the mess and we didn't have but a couple of cracked eggs!

Saturday afternoon we went to G&P's to celebrate with them and the boys.

After the egg hunt we enjoyed a wonderful meal together and then the kids had a blast riding their trucks outside while the big people played Uno. The weather could not have been any nicer!

 

Captured this sweet, sweet picture of my loves and it is one of my favorites ever. They were just standing there talking about the fish in the pond and I was able to sneak over and get some smiles!

Sunday the kids woke up and found baskets from the Easter bunny and eggs outside!

Then we had breakfast and went to church. The worship was amazing and the sermon about truly believing in Jesus' resurrection and the impact that has on a believers life was exactly the message we needed to receive. We live because He lives. Our pastor put it in the best way. It's easy to believe at Christmas, a baby born in a manger. But to believe that Jesus, a perfect man, would die on a cross and three days later is risen into Heaven so we may have eternal life in Him, should we accept this gift of salvation... it's humbling and overwhelming and life changing. May we live in the profoundness of this on Easter and everyday. The kids were thrilled to tell us about the tombs they made out of food in their class. They told us why the tomb was empty and where Jesus went. It was precious and I'm thankful we had this time today to impress the reason we celebrate Easter upon them.

After church we headed over to H&P's house for Easter lunch and some more egg hunting fun!

I may not love pictures of myself right now but I am glad we got one good family picture in our church clothes! :)

These three precious kids make holidays so fun! I am so thankful for the love they have for each other and the time they share together each week!

More This and That

More fun, more memories, more pictures of course! :)

We had a little cookout with some sweet friends! These families had been asking us to get together for weeks and we've just had trouble making it work with our busy schedules! So glad we finally got some time to be with some of our people!

Spring break fun with Hudson!

Mal and I got to have a couple of girls days while Daddy and Bud were at the deer lease. We went to see Zootopia.

Had a lunch date at our favorite place and went shopping.

And got pedicures!

We had a family water balloon fight. Girls against boys of course. It was a blast!

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day at school with green clothes and Lucky Charms for snack.

Mason started TBall practice! He and his buddy Kip are on the same team again.

We celebrated Mamis birthday at our favorite Mexican food restaurant.

Mallory made these adorable bunny ears and nose at the gym. (I love the child care at the Y. They are so great with my kids!) Mason is not a big craft kid so he opted not to make some, choosing instead to play Legos. :) When we were leaving Mal hit achieved a major accomplishment and wrote her name ALL BY HERSELF for the first time!

I watched baby Hudson for a while so his Mama could attend her banquet for an amazing teaching award she won. I took all the kids to Honey and Poppys house and I had to get a picture of little Hud in the back of the car. What it would be like if we had another! Haha. Not happening  but I'll borrow this one anytime!

Ruidoso 2016

In an effort to get the kids on skis again, we decided to make a weekend trip to Ruidoso! D's mom was able to join us which I love because she is such a great help with the kids and they love having her there to play with.

We started the trip off with an amazing breakfast at Cornerstone Bakery. They had "play dough" for the kids to enjoy while we waited for our meals. So neat!

Then off to our first adventure! We went back to the tubing park and one major change this year is that the twins LOVED it! Last time they were not tall enough to ride the big hills and they were too scared to go on the little kids ones by themselves. Not this year! We ruled that park this year!

We played for over two hours on the tubes and we all had a blast! Gamaw, D and I also rotated out staying with the kids and went on the big big big hills. Those were awesome but we mostly enjoyed the kids excitement!

It was a bonus day so instead of our park passes only being good for 3 hours, they were good all day. And it was so quiet there since it was a weekday. We never waited more than 2 minutes in line.

When we decided it was time for a snack and a break, we went into town and went to the community built playground that we loved so much last time.

Then everybody was ready to head back for more tubing. It was even better because the temps were cooler and the snow had started to get slick which made the runs even faster!

Our final run down we decided to make one big train and ride all 5 of us down together! And it was the BEST run of the day! We went super fast and the kids screamed and laughed the whole way down! Mallory exclaimed "that was so so awesome guys!" :)

We headed back to the cabin for some rest and to clean up for dinner. Of course we went back to my favorite Mexican food place and enjoyed their delicious margaritas!

Saturday we woke up and headed to the mountain for a ski day. We got the kids in a little ski school day and D and his Mom did a little skiing too. (I don't enjoy it so I observed the kids and had a Bloody Mary by the fire in the lodge! I also do NOT enjoy the drive up the mountain. The scenery is beautiful, but for someone who gets car sick, holy cow. Luckily I made it without a hint of nausea but it took a lot of focus and "mind over matter"!)

Mason was great and enjoyed ski school. Mallory started off great but an hour into their two hour lesson she started falling a lot and got frustrated. They were great with her and just worked around her. The nice instructor said by the end she was riding up the rope pull and laughing and smiling again. When we picked them up they were having a snowball fight outside and Mal had to show Gamaw where they got to ski. She told Gamaw, "it was amaaazing!" Goofy girl. Mason said he had fun but he was pretty casual with his review of the day. Which is typical Mason, haha. The instructor said he is pretty natural on the skis and will probably be a skier. :)

Before we left we used our lift tickets to ride the gondola up the mountain and check out the scenery!

Back at the condo we rested and Gamaw took the kids on a hike through the little village we stayed in.

One great thing about Gamaw coming along is she volunteers to keep the monkeys so we can have a date night. So D and I went to the casino, ate a ton at the buffet, and played slot machines for a while. It was nice to relax and have some adult time while we were on our trip!

One last hike on Sunday with Daddy while Mommy and Gamaw got packed! 

My parents had recommended the Log Cabin Restaurant for breakfast so we hit that up on the way out Sunday. It was amazing. My meal was great but D got a toasted pecan waffle that I loved also. There wasn't a bad bite of food on the table! 

Then we headed back to reality. It was a quick trip, but we made plenty of great memories and I'm looking forward to going back one day.
