First Birthday Bash!

This past Saturday we celebrated the twins turning one with a huge party full of fun, food, family and friends!! Their real birthday is tomorrow, the 21st, but we wanted to have their party before all the craziness of the holidays begin. I had been planning little by little over the last 2 months so it was so wonderful to see everything all together! The babies did SO good considering this was absolutely the most stimulation they have had in their year of life, ha! It was a great success and we were so blessed by everyone that came to show their love to our little twinkies!

The food tables

Yummy! The bright cookies on the back left were made specially by my best friends mom, MaryAnn. She is a kind and talented woman who has always loved our little family as her own. She makes the absolute best sugar cookie and was so fabulous to make them for the party. Thank you SO much MaryAnn! They were adorable and of course delicious!

The cotton candy at the end seemed to be a hit with the kids. :)

Delicious cupcakes and the babies smash cupcake cakes!

Thanks to my sweet friend Sara for helping me bake the babies smash cakes and to my mother in law for helping me decorate them. I think they turned out perfect!

Fun polka dot balloons everywhere

The birthday babies arriving to their party!

On the left is my sweet Sara still working away to set up. She was my lifesaver all weekend. Thank you girl! And my sister on the right who helped with the babies before the party and then came to my rescue when we were running behind. Thank sister! :)

My best friend Lacye, whom I failed to get a picture with :(, drove from Lubbock with her handsome son Maddox (in the blue shirt on the right) to be at the twins big day. I am so thankful to have her to share all these fun memories with. She was amazingly helpful and Maddox was so good and helpful as well! I love their family and am so glad they were able to be there!

Our friends Tanner (left) and Jodi have the most adorable little girl Parker (right). She was such a sweetheart and looked so cute in her chevron dress totally matching the party. We loved having them!

Friends Casey and Callie that we have known for years just had a cutie baby boy Hoyt. We finally got to meet him and he is just pure sweetness!

Look at that face! He's ready to party!

Hoyt and his daddy Casey, so cute!

Dusty's Granny, my Aunt Karen and my cousin Paige all came to celebrate as well

Cousin Cainen with Granny

Dusty's Popo drove all the way from Fredericksburg for the big party. The babies are just so smitten with him!

Long time high school friends of mine and Dusty's Cara (pictured) and Landon brought their sweet kiddos Laney bug and Kipton (pictured). It has been so fun watching our families grow over the years!

Mallory with my cutie pie Aubrey Clair and her mom Amanda. Amanda is one of my oldest and dearest friends of 16 years! She has been so loving and supportive of us and the babies and her family is just amazing!

Sweet girlfriend hugs!

Lots of friends there to love our babies! On the right are our high school friends Brandi and Jojo and their little baby girl Charley Cate! She is about 7 weeks younger than the twins so we have enjoyed several play dates and outings together. We are so glad they came!

Wow, we were so amazed at everyones generosity and love.

Maser getting started on his presents!

So much fun ripping paper! :)

The family all in on the presents!

Mallory got a madame alexander baby doll from Honey. It looks just like her and she loves it!

Maser and his first baseball glove from Poppy

Mason's growth chart. So cute!

Adorable turkey shirts from Bran and Jojo. So excited to wear these Thursday!

Backpacks from Aunt Sandy, whom took all of these great pictures with my camera and who also drove all the way from Austin. Thank you so much Aunt Sandy!

Honey and Mason with more presents

Smash cake time! My beautiful friend Allison helping light the candles. She and Sara and her husband Ryan went together and got the babies their first 4 wheelers! They are awesome and we are excited for the babies to ride! Thanks guys!

Mason taking his first bites, not too sure because he's never had anything this packed with sugar!

Mallory is a fan, of course! ;)

Ok, he likes it!

Getting some cake!

This boy ended up going crazy. He couldn't get the frosting off fast enough!

She loved it and really liked picking all the little dots off.

Messy messy!

All finished Mom!

We all survived our first year! Love my little family!

We are blessed beyond belief by these 2 little kiddos and we had a great day celebrating them with our family and friends. Thank you so much to Honey, Poppy, Gamaw, Papaw, Ami, Adam, Cameron, Cainen, Christian, Sandy, Granny, Popo, Karen, Roger, Shelly, Paige, Terry, Carolyn, Lacye, Maddox, Sara, Ryan, Allison, Landon, Cara, Laney, Kipton, Brandi, Jojo, Charley, Tanner, Parker, Amanda, Keith, Aubrey, Casey, Callie, Hoyt, Michal, Anna, Elizabeth and Kate for all being a part of such a special memory in our lives. We are so blessed to have each of you to love our babies!

With the distraction of the party I haven't really had time to let the fact that my babies are going to be a year old tomorrow sink in. Thinking back on the last year with them is so bittersweet. But our lives are forever better by these precious gifts. We love you Mason Alan and Mallory Grace! Can't wait for another fun year!

Mason-isms

I am thankful to have two very different little personalities in the twins. Mason is really all boy and I love watching him discover new things. Here are a few funny things this boy does.

Wrestles. He will put his forehead on the rug and crawl straight for you really fast. When he gets to you he starts rolling and growling. It is hilarious!

Growls and grunts all the time while he plays.

Says "yay" in a loud voice and claps when he sees us doing it.

Watches the washing machine spin. We have a front loading washer and dryer and he is so entertained by them!

Waves bye bye and says "dye dye".

Tries to hit your hand and grunts at you when you have to tell him no and spank his hand. He is too young to understand that this is not ok, so right now it's pretty funny. Won't be as funny in a few months!!

Loves to grab your head and pull your hair while screaming and convulsing. He is so goofy!

Will lay on his belly and hold a toy up over his head and scream in a really high voice.

Is obsessed with his sisters bald head. Ha!

Likes to roll around in his bed until his blanket is wrapped around his upper body and face. I of course don't let him sleep this way but if I let him nap with a blanket I always have to go pull it down off his face, silly guy!

We love you wild, rough and tough, all boy Mason Alan!

Mallory-isms

This baby girl has quite the personality. She is our entertainer and makes us laugh everyday. Here are a few of her little quirks that I just never want to forget!

1. Shakes her head no. You think she sees us do this to her a lot? Ha!

2. Barks. Ever since she met my sisters puppies she barks if you say ruff.

3. Dances with one hand out. She loves to dance but cannot do it unless she has a hand out.

4. Makes a funny "pig" face. She wrinkles her nose and breathes like she is trying to snort.

5. Spins in circles on the floor while moaning deeply. Haha. I have no explanation for that one!

6. Giggles and laughs at pictures of herself. She thinks she is pretty cute!

7. Waves bye bye and motions come here, same motion, basically a backwards wave.

8. Loves to pull the wipes out of the package one by one and chew on them. She has her own dried up package to play with in her toys.

9. Smacks her lips together making popping noises.

10. Will give you a kiss with an open mouth if you ask for one and then laughs hysterically.

We sure do love you crazy, spunky, chunky Mallory Grace!
